Why we exist

We know that:

  • Students are under enormous pressure. Add to that, senior year of high school is too late to start making important future decisions.

  • School counselors are stretched thin. Because of that, they may not be up to date on all the college and career options today or have the time for individualized guidance.

  • Who you know and what you know are both crucial. Networking (and learning how to) is key.

  • There are not many opportunities to have open discussion- especially amongst peers- to talk about goals, challenges, and future career options outside of your immediate school.

What we do

Outcomes:

We tackle these challenges by starting earlier in the process.

We work with professionals to create highly customized career content that students won’t find anywhere else. We create opportunities to interact with these hard-to-reach leaders. And we do it all on WIN’s exclusive platform for our growing community of current enrollees, alumni, and participating professionals.

How it works:

WIN runs 2 (virtual) cohorts per year. Fall and Spring.

Each cohort is between 8-10 weeks and meets 1x a week for up to 60 minutes. After all…students have enough on their plates each week.

Below is a typical breakdown of each weekly session:

Short introduction(s) from our speaker(s), their career path(s) and a day in the life of their role(s)

Questions and answers with our speaker(s)

Networking with our speaker(s) and other like-minded students

Through WIN, students will have the platform and tools to succeed. Here is what you can expect at each cohort:

  • WIN believes that by introducing students to career paths and giving them an opportunity to ask questions earlier on, they can make more informed decisions about school and future career pathways.

If applicable, they can then work with their guidance counselors to determine what is next.

  • Meet like-minded peers who are also trying to figure out their next steps. Do not do life alone. Let us figure it out together.

Additionally, remain connected with your peers offline through WIN's community platform.

  • Students often lack the networks and connections in fields they are most interested in. We change that by bringing a curated network of professionals in STEM, finance and entrepreneurship.

YouTube is great. But more importantly, so is giving students the opportunity to ask their questions...live!

  • Networking is critical. And so is learning how to talk to professionals.

Students will learn how to do both and have the opportunity to practice doing so each week of the cohort.

  • Learn what is happening in the real world outside of the classroom from real professionals.

Students will learn the good, the bad, and everything in between about careers and what is happening in the industry.

  • WIN is extremely customer focused.

We are constantly thinking of ways to support the students in the cohort. Some examples of future plans include: mentorship, field trips, internships/apprenticeships, and much more.
